In your light I learn how to love.
In your beauty, how to make poems.
You dance inside my chest
where no-one sees you,
but sometimes I do,
and that sight becomes this art.
-- Jalaluddin Rumi
13th century Sufi poet
Born in present-day Afghanistan, Rumi moved to Turkey at a young age, where he eventually founded the Mevlevi Sufi Order, best known for its Whirling Dervishes. Rumi wrote in Persian.
