Quotable Thursday #1

Welcome to this inaugural Quotable Thursday. Join the fun and spread some wisdom. Add a quotable quote on your blog - from anyone who inspires you, but please tell us who said it first (before you, that is), with a link to this blog. You can copy and paste this icon as well, if you like.

Once your quotation is up, come back here and link through Mr. Linky (just below). And leave me a comment, so I and my readers can come visit you and be inspired by the quote you’ve chosen.

Please don't forget to add a link to this blog in your own post!

Here's my own favourite quote for today, from Shakespeare (Hamlet):

This above all: to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man.

  6. Alana - great quotes! I do like Oscar Wilde, in large part because of the cynicism mixed with the underlying layer of greater clarity that peeps through in at least two of the quotes you have selected. Thanks for joining in with this great selection.
Rosidah, Barbara, Marie - Still waiting to see your selections - I'm sure they'll be wonderful too. :)
