Quotations Quotations

Quotations to inspire you, make you stop and think, or just bring a smile to your lips...
And add more of your own tomorrow when we play Quotable Thursday again -- wait for that posting!

With Mr. Linky acting up, we lost our links to the quotations of Week #2 – which was our most fruitful week so far! I will try to restore those links shortly. Meanwhile, here are the links we’ve garnered over the 3 weeks that Quotable Thursday has been running, in no particular order. The categories are my own and may or may not be a 100% accurate.

On action or “doing.”
A little knowledge that acts is worth infinitely more than much knowledge that is idle. – Kahlil Gibran, Libyan-American Poet (1883-1931)
Terataii Reiki and Counselling, Quotable Thursday #3

It is not how much you do, but how much Love you put into the doing that matters. — Mother Teresa
Adage, Maxim and Quote, QT #2

The important thing is to strive towards a goal which is not immediately visible. That goal is not the concern of the mind, but of the spirit. -- Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Flight to Arras, 1942, translated from French by Lewis Galantière

On journeys/travel.
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. -- Lao Tzu, Chinese philosopher (604 BC - 531 BC)
Wandering Pam, QT #3

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within. -- Elisabeth Kübler-Ross

Don't wait until everything is just right. It will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles and less than perfect conditions. So what. Get started now. A quote for our times.
I am not only a pacifist but a militant pacifist. I am willing to fight for peace. -- Albert Einstein, physicist, Nobel laureate (1879-1955)

Friendship.
But oh! the blessing it is to have a friend to whom one can speak fearlessly on any subject; with whom one's deepest as well as one's most foolish thoughts come out simply and safely. Oh, the comfort - the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person - having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all right out, just as they are, chaff and grain together; certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then with the breath of kindness blow the rest away. -- Dinah Craik, A Life for a Life, 1859
