Quotable Thursday #7 - June 4, 2009

Once more, a quotation from Shakespeare
Shakespeare is one of my favourite sources for meaningful quotations.
So here's my second quote from the bard in these Quotable Thursdays:

The quality of mercy is not strain'd,
It droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven
Upon the place beneath. It is twice blest:
It blesseth him that gives and him that takes.
-- William Shakespeare (Merchant of Venice)

Of Shakespeare's plays, the Merchant of Venice is one of the best for quotable quotes. See a couple more quotations from this wonderful play at Pamposh Dhar and Wandering Pam.

  4. Hi Pamposh! Beautiful quote. Very inspiring. Without having mercy someone could lose the soul in hatred. Sorry for my late comment here. My connection was giving me some trouble yesterday, when I was on your blog. That's why I decided to come back here this morning. Thank you for hosting another great round. My post is here. Have a wonderful day :)
